Floyd Central High School Project Overview

General Comments
None

Site Work
The curbs have been completed in the front and at the student Parking Lot.  Asphalt base is also complete.  The sidewalks have been poured outside the Construction Areas.  Temporary fence is being relocated and temporary walks for the Main Entrance will be completed prior to July 31st.  Striping of the Parking Lot and Signage will be installed for traffic direction in the near future.  The work at the Loading Dock will begin very soon.

New 2-story Classroom Addition
The 1st Floor masonry bearing walls and the 2nd Floor steel bar joists are completed.  The 2nd Floor decking and the concrete decking will be starting soon.  Setting of steel is nearly complete.

New Art Rooms Addition
The framing and masonry are complete.  The drywall work is continuing.  The mechanical, electrical, fire, and plumbing rough-ins are nearly complete.  Field measurements of the windows and casework are completed.  The temporary entrance through E107 is nearly complete.  The brick work has started.

Partial Upper Unit C/Unit A
Unit C:  The elevator shaft and metal stud framing are completed.  The drywall and mechanical, electrical, fire, and plumbing rough-ins are nearly complete.  Painting is continuing.  The masonry Stair #17 is nearly complete and we will begin setting the steel for Stair #17.

Unit A:  The foundation work continues and the underground plumbing is nearly complete.  The construction of the egress tunnel and temporary sidewalk for student parking will start prior to July 31st.

ROTC/Cross Cut Hallway/Gym Locker Rooms
ROTC:  The mechanical, electrical, fire, and plumbing rough-ins are complete.  Painting is nearly complete.  The acoustical ceiling has started and the flooring and ceramic tile will begin soon.

Cross Cut Hallway is nearly complete.

Gym Locker Rooms:  The mechanical, electrical, fire, and plumbing rough-ins and the masonry are nearly complete.  The metal stud framing has started.

Pool/Pool Storage Rooms
The Pool demolition is complete.  Demolition of Pool Equipment and sandblasting of Pool Tank will begin in the near future (prior to the start of school).  The mechanical, electrical, fire and plumbing rough-ins will continue.

Pool Storage Rooms:  The masonry is completed.  The temporary electrical and data for the temporary classroom is nearly complete.  Painting has started.

Commons Area Steel/Commons Restrooms
The steel detailing is nearly complete.  The acoustical roof deck has been set and the foam roofing and metal stud framing have started.  The masonry and metal stud framing for the restrooms has started.  The foundations have been poured and the steps for the ROTC have started.  The plumbing fixtures have been delivered and the toilet partitions and access panels have been ordered.  Clean-up of the Commons Area will be complete this week.

Mechanical Pipe Routes
The mechanical room work and electrical work are completed, including the new emergency generator.  The HVAC will be back up and running by July 25th and the HVAC piping will continue through the School year for the additions.
